hatefree offers specialized legal support to victims of digital violence

Those affected by digital violence (insults, threats, defamation, sexual harassment, other unlawful acts) can report these quickly and easily online at hatefree.de. As part of a three-stage legal procedure, specialized legal experts examine whether criminal and/or civil proceedings are appropriate or promising, file criminal charges or a criminal complaint on behalf of the client and, if necessary, enforce existing civil claims for injunctive relief, deletion and monetary compensation.

Victims of digital violence can therefore receive legal protection and compensation in the form of monetary damages through the non-profit aid program hatefree. Perpetrators, in turn, are held accountable through (civil) legal means, which has a general violence prevention effect.

hatefree is a non-profit aid organization founded by the human rights expert Prof. Dr. Sara Siakala and the lawyer Markus Hampel, who specializes in civil law.
