Violence Prevention Network is committed to providing people with tools and resources to reflect on and overcome their previous patterns of behavior.

Violence Prevention Network gGmbH is an NGO that has been successfully active in the prevention of extremism as well as deradicalization and disengagement support for two decades. Over the years, the Violence Prevention Network team has acquired internationally recognized expertise in the field of working with ideologically motivated offenders through its work with people at risk from right-wing extremism, Islamism and radicalization.

The aim of Violence Prevention Network is to help ideologically endangered people and violent extremists to change their behaviour through deradicalization work, lead a responsible life and become part of the democratic community (again) in order to prevent extremism of all kinds. The non-profit organization, headquartered in Berlin, provides tools and resources to help radicalized people reflect on and overcome their previous patterns of behaviour. The aim is to empower them to lead a life in which they do not harm themselves or others. In addition, family members and professionals are supported and trained in constructive, preventative ways of dealing with radicalized individuals.

More than 150 employees are currently (2024) working for Violence Prevention Network in eight federal states as well as in other European countries and the USA, covering all facets of extremism prevention and deradicalization in the phenomena of right-wing extremism and Islamism. In addition to traditional approaches to preventing radicalization and deradicalization, the NGO has also been implementing online/social media projects since 2016.
